Meeting other bloggers and Supporting Palestine

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم السلام عليكم Fatima Peck, Me, Nurunisa Peck On the 24 January 2015 a wonderful group of people decided to put together a fashion show in order to raise funds for our brothers and sisters in Palestine in need of our help. Fatima and Nurunisa Peck are the founders of Sisters in Hijab and now creators of Sisters in Support. These two young ladies have seriously been making a splash in our Muslim community. Their website consists of selling beautiful scarves to exciting jewelry and elegant headbands( hand made by Aashiqah Gire). They even have a little section where they sell little badges and stickers in support of Palestine. As some of you might know I keep Palestine close to my heart, so when Fatima contacted me telling me about this event there was no way I could not be there. The fashion show was held in the Old Mutual building in Pinelands. As I made my way there I was rather nervous yet excited. I was told that I was going to have th...

Hello 2015...

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم السلام عليكم Shall I start by saying Happy New Year everyone, welcome to 2015 where flying cars and time travel still does not exist. This is not going to be a post about "new year, new me" because I think we've seen enough of that on tumblr and instagram. Now do not get me wrong I am not hating here I just think I am kinder over setting this long list of goals that, well never really work out.  Yes goals are very important and when we achieve it we feel good about ourselves, but when we pile them up so quickly we end up overwhelming ourselves.  I do not want to make this a long and sappy post. So I am just going to say that for 2015 I have one big goal for myself and that is to ' work harder'. Yes I know wow... that is so deep right, but if you think about it when I say 'work harder' I mean everything that I do, I am going to give it all that I got, hundred percent. So yes I am going to turn this into a ...

Sunday Funday...

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم السلام عليكم Right now I am trying to write a blog post with three girls shouting across the room, yes you got that right we having a sleepover. No this is not a sleepover post but I want you to know why this is going to be the shortest post ever! Mostly due to the fact that we having a four man dance party in 5. After a long and busy weekend we got to end it off  by seeing our granny, uncle and aunt leave for umrah  to the blessed cities of  Mecca and Medina. I ask that you all keep them in your duas Insha'Allah Ameen. Since today was kind of a big rush I chose a pretty simple outfit. Black tights with a patterned dress, cardigan, a very plain scarf and some pretty shiny sandals.  The last thing that I just have to mention is my 'Africa' ring which I completely adore! I love that it is a symbol of  being proudly South African. It's just so elegant and gorgeous. I have to say a big shukran to Mr Tahir ...

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم السلام عليكم S.W.A.G = Scarf Wearing Adorable Gangsters Today I am rather pleased to say that I had a really good Monday, wow I know. Spent a lovely all girls day in Constansia with my good friends and former class mates. It was basically a huge picnic with loads of things to eat, fun games to play and some splashing around in the pool. Note to self : if you ever want to see how hard your friends can laugh play marry, sleep with or kill. As I mentioned it was a girls only event and  I did not take any pictures due to the fact that everyone was scarf-less and could basically wear anything they want including me.  On to my outfit which is exactly what I wore today except I just had a cap on with no scarf. I liked this look so much because it was incredibly comfortable and I took this as a challenge. How was I going to combine scarf with a peek-cap?   Well this is what I came up ...

A Sunday Afternoon...

Image
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم السلام عليكم   Shall I begin by saying today has turned out to be a lovely spring day. Yesterday for some reason Cape Town decided to trick with a cold winters day that was just rather confusing. Moving on to this outfit I have here. It is just so comfortable and cool I absolutely love this! Perfect for a really relaxed Sunday afternoon, whether you going to the beach, shopping or even a family lunch. As you may notice there is not really a lot of patterns going on. Keeping it simple but interesting by doing three layers. Normally you won't make three layers with a skirt but I think it looks unique.  All the materials I have on are thin and light. The layers go from white to turquoise to cream. I paired this with a silk scarf around my neck, a brown turban and some very comfortable cavemen sandals.  Photo Credit : Nuha Adams

That Crop Top Love...

Image
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم   السلام عليكم Photo Credit goes to Nishaat Isaacs  Firstly I should apologize because I have definitely been neglecting my blog, but now I am back and ready to post like crazy! Since we are on the verge of summer here in beautiful Cape Town, South Africa I am so ready for all the bright, fun  and also cool, pastel colours. One thing that is without a doubt always a summer must have are crop tops. Now being a hijaabi this is obviously not easy to wear. That is why I will always stick to my layers, I do not think I will be me without layering my clothing. I know a lot of people don't like layering because all they can think about is what an effort and how hot it is. I believe with the right materials you can keep cool and look amazing! Let us start with a jeans, comfy and casual. I paired it up with a long cream top which has a lovely gold shimmer to it. Then added a flowy crop top and popped on my netted pink c...
