Two ways to wear bandana's

Image
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم السلام عليكم Asalaam Walaykom everyone, I hope you all are doing well. This post is all about bandana's. I've been looking for them for a while and couldn't really seem to find any, once I did I've been incorporating them in my wardrobe for the past few weeks. It's really great to use as that pop of colour in your Saturday denims, or even that pop of pattern in your monochrome work attire. As you scroll down you will notice this post is made up of two outfits. The first outfit I wore to work, since the whole outfit is basically plain I decided to wrap my bandana around my turban, in conclusion it kept my scarf in place whole day and added a cool pattern. The second outfit got to watch Hotel Transylvania 2 in the cinemas (definitely recommend it). haha I absolutely love the simplicity of this look. Skinny jeans, white sneakers and a linen dress is all that this outfit is made up of and yet the bandana around my...

What I wear to work : Studded Jeans

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم السلام عليكم Hello everyone, can I just say, you know your friend accepts your weird blogger ways when your tea and scones arrive at the table and she looks at you in confusion, asking  "Are you not going to take a picture of this?". haha  I am going to get straight into this outfit. If you do not know by now my dress code is black and white, so I decided to go slightly casual with a dark denim, black studded jeans. A black lace, mini skirt to add length to my half white, half black top. Then since it was chilly I decided to grab my black leather jacket, which I"m obsessed with, by the way. Eid ul-Adha

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم السلام عليكم Happy Saturday everyone! I don't think anyone expected this rain we're having today. I hope you all have a nice relaxing weekend, I know that's all I want. I hope you all had a blessed Eid filled with love and joy. May all of our loved ones return safely from their sacred journeys Insha'Allah. A lot of people has been asking me about my outfit, yes I did design it myself and my grandmother (aka 'super granny', haha) made it for me. The inspiration for this look came purely from the material itself, once I got the pants right the rest of the outfit just fell into place. So very 60's inspired, tight sleeves and pants that both flare out at the bottom. Since the material is already so busy I decided to go with little small, petite jewelry and a plain scarf and shoes.  Instagram :@southernhijaabian Snapchat: @laaiqah_isaacs Twitter : @southernhijaabi Until next time, L...

What I wear to work : Trackpants

Image
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم السلام عليكم Hello everyone, I hope we are all having a fantastic week, if not just think tomorrow is Eid and the blessed day of Arafat was today. Two absolutely great reasons to smile. May all the good dua's made for and by us be accepted Insha'Allah and may the Almighty allow our families to return safely home to us Insha'Allah Ameen.  So as you can probably see this is not an Eid post but just a "what I wear to work" as I promised, so I'll keep it short. For this outfit I decided to step away from the 'girly' looks I have been doing recently and went with a edgy, tomboy approach.  I absolutely love this outfit, because of how comfortable it is. I know you probably thinking, "Wow really Laaiqah, track pants to work?" but hey I think it ended up looking pretty cool. This is also a perfect "I'm running late outfit", grey track pants with a long, over sized black shirt, a black biker jacket and som...

What I wear to work : Shirt Dress

Image
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم السلام عليكم Hello everyone, so over the past week I've tried my best to take pictures of the outfits I wear to work. I only wish I could show you all some "behind the scenes" for these pictures. Besides the pictures below all my other posts were taken by my different work colleagues and yes everyone wanted to know what I'm doing and why. It ended up being a rather awkward yet funny experience. Since I do have a few outfits to show you all I am going to be posting one every second day until the end of the month. I hope that makes up for my absence.  Anyway, I only realized afterwards that this look is basically Mr Price featuring a pair of Nike sneakers. Since this outfit is pretty straight forward you will notice in the last picture I ended up unbuttoning the last few buttons and tying the two pieces together, I think it just adds some excitement to the "common" shirt everyone seems to have now. haha  Ski...

Chocolate Date and Ripped Jeans

Image
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم السلام عليكم Hello there everyone. Let me start off by apologizing for how late this post is, I recently started working so things have been quite hectic. However there is a bright side which is, I'll be posting a bunch of black and white things you can wear to work, which is of course my dress code. On to this over due post. This is what I wore last weekend when Zainab, Faiza and I decided to try out the Honest Chocolate café. We got there pretty early so we got one peaceful morning with dreamy chocolate beverages. After taking too many pictures in their stunning courtyard we took a drive to Sea Point where the photoshoot continued on the beach. haha Then of course stopping for lunch on the way home we got my favourite pasta at Atlantic Express, blue train, Sea Point. Now that you have the whole back story, let us go on to my outfit which is rather simple, because the jeans is quite a statement and I really...

My Cheeky Leather Overload

Image
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم السلام عليكم Well hello there everyone. I sure hope you all had a great weekend, whether you were out and about or just rebooting at home. I had tons of fun shooting this look with Faiza, after a coffee run and a few errands we found a nice, quite, little place and just simply stood in the middle of the street taking pictures.   My inspiration for this outfit was an edgy, biker kinder chick, which explains all the leather. Over my jeans I wore a black mini skirt to add length and another layer. Tucked in half my shirt to make the look more messy and causal. A pair of plain black, thick soled boots, which definitely screams biker. To top everything off I knew I had to wear a peak cap, so all I did was put a plain black scarf underneath and twirled it into a bun at the back.  P.S If you do not like or can not wear a lot of face or eye make up like me, then try putting on a bright lipstick, it looks like you 'tried' a little. ...
