"Match This" Challenge: Stripes

Image
Hello Everyone, It is 2018 and I feel like society is telling us to "be yourself" and "self-care is so important" yet we are then still criticized when we want to do just that. This is want inspired me to create the series "Match This". The concept: To basically match your partner in crime with a specific pattern, but at the same time you are going to style it in your own way. Proving that you can match and keep your own unique style at the same time. I will be collaborating with loads of different content creators, because even though I do not have the biggest following I would like to use my platform to bring exposure to other smaller influencers that are super talented and growing slowly. This is also an example of how I would like you all to get out there, step out of your comfort zone and approach other bloggers and influencers to work with you. Let us work on building a community of women who support each other. The challenge:  1. Gra

First Lady Affair

On the 8th August 2017 I was privileged enough to attend The First Lady event hosted by Fatima Wise (memrsme) and Farah Moosa (Rebel Funk) both granddaughters of the late Fatima and Judge Essa Moosa. Fatima and Farah are determined to not let their grandparents struggle and fight be unheard. They were motivated to give back, therefore they will be donating a portion of the profits to a women’s upliftment centre, the Feel better Foundation. Since I started my blog I have always been so excited when it comes to attending events. I love meeting new people, hearing their stories, what they do for a living, what they are passionate about, taking cool selfies and of course indulging in loads of yummy treats. I’m there for it all. Once in awhile an event comes along that you know, there is no way I’m going to miss this. As much as I love fashion shows and media launches it is so refreshing to attend an event that is dedicated purely to uplifting women. Between freshly squ

Haya Collective : soft pink safar robe

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم السلام عليكم There is a particular routine you follow when coming into contact with new people. Normally, this brings up a few recurring and obvious questions.; "What is your name? Where are you from? Where do you work?", once all these questions have been answered, my family member/friend/colleague feels the need to mention that I am a blogger. This got me thinking for someone who is wearing this 'blogger badge' so proudly I should definitely start posting more frequently. Which leads me to the presentation of this wickedly cool post featuring a beautiful robe from Haya Collective. I'm always looking for new modest fashion brands to try, so when the Haya Collective team reached out to me I was extremely excited to try out their brand.  Here in Cape Town spring is in the air and summer is around the corner, you know you are going to be rocking those pastel, flowy garments. With that being said I absolutely fell in love with H

Inner Queen : Desert Born

Image
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم السلام عليكم Hey everyone, so this is the second part to my Inner Queen series. Be sure to read the previous post to see what this is all about. Desert Born This side is, if you're lucky enough, the side you show all the time. Being, of course your best side. The side of you that is kind, sweet, silly, fun, gentle, friendly and more importantly honest. Most people try their best to emphasize this part of themselves and  that is okay. Just remember that you can not act like this is the only side to you, because at the end of the day we all have our flaws and as long as we working on them it's okay to acknowledge them. For this look I decided to take a much softer approach by adding a lot of cream and a hint of turquoise. However where the gold comes into play is displaying how I wanted this look to represent treasure. You don't have to necessarily chase  the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow but just simply stop and find the gold

Inner Queen : Dark Gem

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم السلام عليكم Hello everyone, I know I've been really quiet on my blog, so that is why I wanted to bring you a special post. To be honest I literally took these pictures in four hours easily, but what took me so long to post this is the actual meaning behind them and what they are suppose to represent. As a young, muslim women there is a certain standard you hold for yourself and sometimes people can assume many things about you that aren't even close to the truth. Sometimes this can have a terrible impact on you because what those people forget is that you are already fighting your own "demons" and them adding on does not help in anyway. Since you can not control other people it is only vital that you learn to accept yourself just the way  you are, so if someone does play on one of your weaknesses you will simply roll it off your shoulder  because you have self love. The reason why I chose to call this series "Inner q
