"Match This" Challenge: Stripes

Hello Everyone,

It is 2018 and I feel like society is telling us to "be yourself" and "self-care is so important" yet
we are then still criticized when we want to do just that. This is want inspired me to create the
series "Match This".

The concept:

To basically match your partner in crime with a specific pattern, but at the same time you are going to style it in your own way. Proving that you can match and keep your own unique style at the same time. I will be collaborating with loads of different content creators, because even though I do not have the biggest following I would like to use my platform to bring exposure to other smaller influencers that are super talented and growing slowly. This is also an example of how I would like you all to get out there, step out of your comfort zone and approach other bloggers and influencers to work with you. Let us work on building a community of women who support each other.

The challenge:

1. Grab a friend/content creator/whoever you want.
2. Pick a clothing item according to the weekly one I do (eg. this week it's stripes)
3. Style the matching clothing item in your own unique way.
4. Hit the streets and channel your inner supermodel.
5. Upload to the gram, tag me and hashtag #matchthiswithlaaiqah #matchthischallenge

Winner to be picked every week: (PRIZE)

1. Different prizes to be won every week to the pair with the best styling and photography.
2. Winner will be featured on this website.

Match this Challenge:

About this weeks look:

Collaboration with Zhuqeelah Scott (follow her here)

Pattern of choice: Stripes

Zhuqeelah: She went with a high-waist, white, denim jeans. A stripe off the shoulder blouse with a black polo-neck underneath. She also threw on a pair of black heels.

Me: I went with a black and white stripe kimono with a similar flare top underneath. To break the stripe on stripe combo, I threw on a pair of black boyfriend  jeans and some strap sandals. (which happened to match Zhuqeelah's heels perfectly)
