Sunday Funday...

Image
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم السلام عليكم Right now I am trying to write a blog post with three girls shouting across the room, yes you got that right we having a sleepover. No this is not a sleepover post but I want you to know why this is going to be the shortest post ever! Mostly due to the fact that we having a four man dance party in 5. After a long and busy weekend we got to end it off  by seeing our granny, uncle and aunt leave for umrah  to the blessed cities of  Mecca and Medina. I ask that you all keep them in your duas Insha'Allah Ameen. Since today was kind of a big rush I chose a pretty simple outfit. Black tights with a patterned dress, cardigan, a very plain scarf and some pretty shiny sandals.  The last thing that I just have to mention is my 'Africa' ring which I completely adore! I love that it is a symbol of  being proudly South African. It's just so elegant and gorgeous. I have to say a big shukran to Mr Tahir Edwards who d

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم السلام عليكم S.W.A.G = Scarf Wearing Adorable Gangsters Today I am rather pleased to say that I had a really good Monday, wow I know. Spent a lovely all girls day in Constansia with my good friends and former class mates. It was basically a huge picnic with loads of things to eat, fun games to play and some splashing around in the pool. Note to self : if you ever want to see how hard your friends can laugh play marry, sleep with or kill. As I mentioned it was a girls only event and  I did not take any pictures due to the fact that everyone was scarf-less and could basically wear anything they want including me.  On to my outfit which is exactly what I wore today except I just had a cap on with no scarf. I liked this look so much because it was incredibly comfortable and I took this as a challenge. How was I going to combine scarf with a peek-cap?   Well this is what I came up with. I took burqah(under scarf) and put it normally o

A Sunday Afternoon...

Image
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم السلام عليكم   Shall I begin by saying today has turned out to be a lovely spring day. Yesterday for some reason Cape Town decided to trick with a cold winters day that was just rather confusing. Moving on to this outfit I have here. It is just so comfortable and cool I absolutely love this! Perfect for a really relaxed Sunday afternoon, whether you going to the beach, shopping or even a family lunch. As you may notice there is not really a lot of patterns going on. Keeping it simple but interesting by doing three layers. Normally you won't make three layers with a skirt but I think it looks unique.  All the materials I have on are thin and light. The layers go from white to turquoise to cream. I paired this with a silk scarf around my neck, a brown turban and some very comfortable cavemen sandals.  Photo Credit : Nuha Adams

Alhamdulliah we had a lovely blessed day.   I am going to be honest and say it was, well normal seeing everyone there. We are a close, tight family and see each other every weekend.  On to my outfit. I wore a dark green pants with a peachy flowy shirt and a  beautiful ,light creamy cardigan. Adding colour with my green, red and pink scarf and finally my favorite nude wedges .  Since I was playing photographor for the day I managed to arrive early and take a few sneeky pictures. For the love of  food. (^-^) Yes I know this is a rather small portion, everyone reminded me, but I guess I am just one of those people. haha

That Crop Top Love...

Image
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم   السلام عليكم Photo Credit goes to Nishaat Isaacs  Firstly I should apologize because I have definitely been neglecting my blog, but now I am back and ready to post like crazy! Since we are on the verge of summer here in beautiful Cape Town, South Africa I am so ready for all the bright, fun  and also cool, pastel colours. One thing that is without a doubt always a summer must have are crop tops. Now being a hijaabi this is obviously not easy to wear. That is why I will always stick to my layers, I do not think I will be me without layering my clothing. I know a lot of people don't like layering because all they can think about is what an effort and how hot it is. I believe with the right materials you can keep cool and look amazing! Let us start with a jeans, comfy and casual. I paired it up with a long cream top which has a lovely gold shimmer to it. Then added a flowy crop top and popped on my netted pink collar to give me tha

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم   السلام عليكم So ladies I am officially done with my little Eid expo. These are my last two outfits for you all. I would also really like to advise you to read my last two posts. They just explain a little more on what I was going for and why I decided to do a Eid "expo". Once again I would just like to mention this was literally clothes I already had in my cupboard, proving that you do not have to pay an arm and a leg to get a stylish, comfortable Eid outfit. I really, really hope that at least one of you benefited from these posts and I would love to see your Eid outfits. So Insha'Allah on Eid post a picture on instagram and mention me. Outfit no. 3 : Turbanation Some might say this outfit is many "too much", but honestly I love bright colours and busy patterns. If you are not ready for all these patterns you can always tone the look down by picking one pattern and maybe only three colours throughout the entire look.

Eid is near...

Image
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم   السلام عليكم Eid is near sisters... Let me start by saying that Eid outfits can be both exciting and fun but at the same time it can be rather stressful.  You are tired and hungry, the last thing you want to do is walk around in a shopping mall packed with people and delicious smelling foods. What makes this journey even more draining is when you have no idea what you are looking for. Too much people, just crowded and you are trying to match colours or trying to find something to cover up more, something that is longer or less "figure hugging". I feel like I should also mention that it is the last ten days of this glorious month, so we should not lose focus on how important this month is. Eid shopping should not take up the rest of this month. Personally I take one day for fabric shopping and another day for accessories. Don't get me wrong, I can also take awhile on deciding what I want.   In conclusion I decided to do a quick littl

Ramadan Kareem...

Image
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم   السلام عليكم Subhan'Allah! Allah has granted us another opportunity to witness this glorious month of Ramadan. We should all feel so honored and blessed. Let us take full advantage of what has been bestowed upon us as muslims. The doors of Jahanam (hell) are closed and the doors of Janaah (heaven) are thrown open.  During the year some of us might have gotten lost along the way. As human beings it is only possible for our Imaan to drop. Alhamdulilah Allah has given us this month as a way of calling us back to Him! Subhan'Allah! Allah wants us to turn to Him, to ask for His mercy, to fully surrender ourselves to the one true Creator. Alhamdulilah we always try to be the best muslims we can be. So in this month I feel like we need to do more. More as in if I already perform my five daily prays then Insha'Allah this month I will make extra sunnah salaahs. Maybe I haven't been to steadfast in my prays, so Insha'Allah I will plan to

Theee Polo-neck is your friend...

Image
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم   السلام عليكم The polo-neck. Okay I know this is not the most famous item in your wardrobe, in fact most of us do not really bother buying them. Personally I wasn't too fond of them either. Now it is one of the best things to have. Why is that?.. Firstly look at it! So warm and comfy, all you need to do is throw it on and tadaaa, no extra scarves, nothing.  Secondly if you have not already notice, it was simply meant to be worn with a turban. Absolutely no worrying about what scarf you need to throw around your neck, non of, what colour should it  be? or what kind of patterns should be on it.  This specific polo-neck I am wearing is really wide and floppy on top. Which is a good thing, because I pinned it to the bottom of my turban to give me some extra coverage. In other words no matter how much I move and turn my neck stays covered. It's foolproof baby! haha  A baby pink raincoat is thrown over my polo-neck jersey. Paired with a ba

Hijaabi Solider

Image
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم   السلام عليكم Let me start by saying how much I absolutely adore this jacket! It doesn't have any camouflage, but it has these really cool badges sewed in the front and on the sleeves. It has pockets on the front at the top and bottom plenty of space to store your lip gloss, tissues, phone, money....I think you get my point. Even though this outfit doesn't seem very "girly girl" it sure is. If you look closer you will see that my jeans along with my boots are a bit on the sparkly side of life. My boots have a ton of studs on them and my jeans have these black diamantes.  Under the "wonder jacket" I am wearing a long denim shirt for some extra "coverage". A knitted cream crop-top that gives off this beautiful gold shimmer.  To top it all off  I have a black scarf which has these cute little white bows and rope patterns on it. Overall I do believe this outfit has "a lot" going on, but it was supe

Hijaabi goes..."Gangster"

Image
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم   السلام عليكم Who said hijaabi's cannot go gangster? The baggy pants and shirt is the perfect way to style yourself as a Muslimah. It is not too revealing and just rather effortless. So if you look at it, this outfit is quite convenient. This specific look is inspired by Chris Brown from one of his music videos.  I am wearing a black tracksuit pants, paired with a long white tank top, black biker jacket with some cool studded detail to add some extra   edge. Perfect for the cold weather we having. A big chunky gold necklace to 'girl-a-fy' it a bit and not forgetting the signature check shirt. Once again proving that any hijaabi can rock any look. We all have our days were you just don't feel for the "girly-girl" look and just want to let loose and bring your inner "gangster" out.                Tip: If your tracksuit pants is bootleg like mine, cuff it by tucking the bottom of your pants into your sock
