Winter Wonderland...

 Winter my absolute favorite time of the year. All I can say is layers, layers and more layers!  If it is done correctly you can wear quite a few different colours and patterns and I'm all about mixing and matching. Here I am wearing a loose, flowy pants with a knitted crop top, a denim shirt, black fleece coat with amazing leather sleeves and topping it off with a pair of boots. Warm and cosy, yet fun and stylish, simply ready to take on the chilly Cape Town day ahead.

On the 8th August 2017 I was privileged enough to attend The First Lady event hosted by Fatima Wise (memrsme) and Farah Moosa (Rebel Funk) both granddaughters of the late Fatima and Judge Essa Moosa. Fatima and Farah are determined to not let their grandparents struggle and fight be unheard. They were motivated to give back, therefore they will be donating a portion of the profits to a women’s upliftment centre, the Feel better Foundation. Hijaabi goes..."Gangster"

    بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم   السلام عليكم Who said hijaabi's cannot go gangster? The baggy pants and shirt is the perfect way to style yourself as a Muslimah. It is not too revealing and just rather effortless. So if you look at it, this outfit is quite convenient. This specific look is inspired by Chris Brown from one of his music videos.  I am wearing a black tracksuit pants, paired with a long white tank top, black biker jacket with some cool studded detail to add some extra   edge. Perfect for the cold weather we having. A big chunky gold necklace to 'girl-a-fy' it a bit and not forgetting the signature check shirt. Once again proving that any hijaabi can rock any look. Between work and well more work I seriously have no free time, I definitely have new found respect for people working in retail. Moving on to what this post is really about, Cherry Blossom Couture. I had the honor of seeing the collection before it was released and I was astonished. The material itself is of high quality and managers to flow perfectly on ones body without being revealing in any way. The inspiring women behind this beautiful collection goes by the name of Fatimah Meyer. Mrs Meyer says she never really grew fond of the western worlds style in clothing but instead always enjoyed designing her own clothes, this way she stays covered and modest.
